As I mentioned in a post from yesterday, Connecticut Innovations celebrated its 20th anniversary yesterday during its Annual Technology Celebration (See article about the event in The Bristol Press). As usual, it was a great event to re-connect with new and old clients, customers and colleagues. And, on an upbeat note, from my conversations with various players in the VC/tech market (i.e. VC’s, entrepreneurs, accountants and lawyers), it seems like the activity is picking up steam after an extremely slow 1st quarter of 2009.
Premise Corp. was given the award as Outstanding Portfolio Company of CI (and it’s no wonder, check out their first quarter deal that I talked about yesterday).
As for the award for Most Promising New Portfolio Company, ShopText was the winner amongst a group of very strong new CI start-ups that included FMP Products (see my post regarding FMP) and ExeCue.
